The Clinic made the fourth fact-finding visit this time again to Peace Law Academy in Maesot, Thailand and for the first time into Myanmar in the city of Yangon, and more importantly finally interviewed one activist (identity hidden here for security purposes) who had worked on Kyaukphyu Island to oppose the Shwe gas field development for environmental and community development reasons. The Clinic also made the third fact-finding trip to Chiang Mai, again to gather additional information on the Shwe gas field. This time the Clinic visited Earth Rights International and a new organization spun off from ERI, Shwe Gas Movement in August 2011. The Clinic made the second visit to Maesot and Chinag Mai in September 2010, this time visiting with a broader spectrum of civil society organizations working for Myanmar's democracy based in Maesot and also continuing with the "democracy" lecture series introducing Korea's system of human rights and history of democracy given by students, followed by the fact-finding through interviews with the refugees with information on the Kyaukphyu region.
