August 2011 fact-finding visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand and Democracy Lecture in CM and Kathmandu Nepal

The Clinic also made the third fact-finding trip to Chiang Mai, again to gather additional information on the Shwe gas field. This time the Clinic visited Earth Rights International and a new organization spun off from ERI, Shwe Gas Movement in August 2011. The Clinic continued the search for witnesses and information on the gas development by DAEWOO International on Kyaukphyu Island.


Extending on the same trip, the Clinic developed the "Korean democracy" lecture series further and deployed it in Chiang Mai, Thailand at the Asian Consortium for Human Rights Based Access to Justice (HRBA2J) and then in Kathmandu, Nepal first at a televised conference with the help of Korea Democracy Foundation and Martyrs' Memorial



Foundation and later at a seminar to the LL.M students at Kathmandu Law School.
